Formed in 2017, Alight Media is the fastest growing media owner in the UK with ambitions to develop positive connections through Digital Out of Home (DOOH) advertising. Since 2023 Alight have been deploying a number of digital assets in key locations across the UK, building their out of home network and appealing to a middle-market of advertisers for its ever-growing estate.
Alight’s digital network development plans include deploying 75 new assets nationwide in an expedited timeframe of one display per week. To achieve that, they needed a partner that could not only install displays, but design, build, install, commission and handover for operational readiness. Far from straightforward a task, the 10mm pixel pitch displays needed to accommodate the site conditions specifically with respect to mounting methods. With five separate structural designs required, from gable mounted to goal posts, monopoles and two double-sided iterations, the client needed a delivery team that could manage those requirements with precision and confidence as part of the design and build works.
DPI were approached to deploy assets across the country from Dundee, Scotland to St Austell in Cornwall managing the full turn-key scope of services as an industry first by a service provider. From site surveys, designing foundations, structures, and power and data routes, as well as considering serviceability, third-party assets at each location and management of the full fabrication and installation, the requirement was no mean feat. With careful planning, programme management and rigorous processes, Dpi completed phase 1 (40 initial display in as many weeks) in 2023.
Through Dpi’s end-to-end support, Alight Media have been able to expedite the availability of digital assets to bring new advertising opportunities to their customer base. And with full project management services from Dpi, Alight has been able focus internal efforts on revenue generation safe in the knowledge that new sites will be managed with resilience, due diligence and in-line with the all-important deployment programme.
DPI evidenced their capability as a design, build and install partner through our phase 1 works where we deployed 40 LED D48 units in 40 weeks. By managing the deployment of display assets end-to-end at each site, often at challenging locations, they overcame any issues to meet our ambitious programme. Their performance across the whole scope of works, with a light-touch from us as the client, secured them phase 2 works for an additional 35 displays and recognition within our business as a trusted partner.
