I-Immersive, with its ClassView technology, creates immersive learning environments in education facilities to break the physical and geographical boundaries of accessing teachers and lecturers. The dynamic, connected spaces leverage cutting edge audio-visual (AV) technologies to modernise the learning and teaching experience.

The integrator was tasked with deploying complex AV systems including LED displays, large format displays, mounts, bracketry, microphones, speakers, sound bars and control equipment across 50 sites, many within the busy confines of the M25. The installation of the technologies had to be managed strictly during non-term time dates, with an ambitious schedule to ensure readiness for September 2024. Financial penalties for lateness also added to the challenge of deploying the rooms, and exerted pressure on the required sign-off for each site. In short, the project required a committed, experienced and trustworthy delivery partner for deployment; one the integrator found in DPi.

DPi’s DBS-vetted and multi-disciplined engineers were assigned to locations concurrently, managing a number of installations in parallel to meet the ambitions programme. The scope of works included site surveys and readiness checks as well as close collaboration with the design teams for a right-first-time approach. DPi worked flexibly with other stakeholders to install three rooms per week to meet the programme of works and respond to both integrator and client requirements. They managed the full testing, commissioning and sign-off process on completion of each space, ensuring quality and usability with post-installation verification checks three weeks following room sign-off. These subsequent checks ensure that all systems continue to work well and expected, any documentation is updated (including asset registers and schematics), users are supported in the adoption of the technology, and the handover into the maintenance phase of the project is managed robustly for ongoing support.

By leveraging DPi’s expert resources from across the UK, they were able to build robust teams of engineers to deploy across sites, managing works effectively and efficiently with a focus on quality and timely handover. The delivery of works to the ambitious timeframe has set a new standard for rolling out complex systems during the summer break, when many higher education projects are scheduled.
